NWEC Staff BiosKim Loveall Price, Interim Executive DirectorKim Loveall Price formed Loveall Price & Associates LLC in 2004. Kim’s focus is Transitional Leadership and Interim Executive work for non-profits. Her extensive training and experience in non profit management and collaborative leadership allows her to create an environment where problem solving, collaborative teamwork and transformative change occurs by encouraging staff and boards to question and reevaluate mission impact and organizational structure. Kim brings over 19 years of experience in fundraising, board development, fiscal management, human resources, and visionary leadership to her work. As an independent consultant, Kim has successfully transitioned 10 organizations. The work included recruitment and on-boarding executive leadership to her most recent assignment facilitating a merger that encompassed over 40 million in assets. Organizations she has worked with have ranged in size from 1 staff member to 135 staff with budget sizes ranging from $240K - $9 million. Kim has been recognized for excellent leadership, energy, interpersonal skills, excellent listening skills and true love for the work. Kim was retained by the Northwest Economic Council in early November to explore a potential merger with the Bellingham/Whatcom Chamber of Commerce while strengthening the role of the NWEC in creating a vibrant Economic community. John Michener, Programs ManagerJohn Michener is a creative, talented, highly motivated team player who enjoys directly contributing to the success of his co-workers, the people he reports to, and the company. As the Programs Manager at the Northwest Economic Council, a few of John’s numerous responsibilities include: ensuring all criteria of the State of Washington ADO contract are met or exceeded on a quarterly basis, administration of an EDA Revolving Loan Fund in accordance with Federal EDA guidelines, and keeping the Commercial Property listing website up to date and relevant. Prior to joining the Council, John lived in Sitka, Alaska for twelve years. While there, the two primary positions he held were: Captain in Charge for Bayside Charters, followed by Director of Visitor Services for the Sitka Convention and Visitors Bureau (SCVB). His skill and expertise helped both businesses to expand and grow. Bayside Charters was able to purchase a second Charter Vessel after four years of John’s guiding experience. At the SCVB John was instrumental in increasing the company’s Vacation Planner ad sales and revenue. In addition he also developed marketing materials geared towards targeting and attracting the growing Cruise Ship segment of the tourism industry. This campaign recognized, and capitalized on Sitka’s unique position as both the most beautiful and genuine Southeast Alaskan town called on by the cruise industry. John’s degree in Economics coupled with his depth of knowledge regarding growing local economies based on the comparative advantages unique to each makes him a great asset to the organization. TessaRose Petersen, Projects CoordinatorTessaRose Petersen has been with the Northwest Economic Council since September 2007. Over the past four years her position with NWEC has transformed from part-time intern to Programs Assistant, to Administrative Assistant, and now to her current position as Projects Coordinator. Her expanded role includes administrative responsibilities, management of the Council’s website, maintenance of relationships with subcontractors and provision of support for other NWEC Staff. Prior to her time at the Council, TessaRose held various part-time positions while attending Western Washington University. She graduated magna cum laude from WWU in 2008 with her BA in Economics and her minor in Psychology. TessaRose’s dedication to the mission of the Council, together with her academic success in the field of Economics, makes her a valuable asset to the NWEC team. She is known for her cooperative spirit, attention to detail, exceptional listening skills, levelheadedness and commitment to perfection. In addition to her work with NWEC, TessaRose is furthering her education in order to expand her future career opportunities. She is currently excelling in the evening Masters of Business Administration program at WWU and expects to graduate in June 2012. She is a goal-oriented, driven person with a promising career ahead of her. |
